Ella’s business practice is multidisciplinary. She acts for both private and public corporations, located in Canada and throughout the world. She has expertise with non-resident Canadian owned Corporations.

Ella’s family law practice includes all manner of court proceedings and the various forms of alternative dispute resolution. In 1999 she participated in and completed the Advanced Family Mediation Course (Law Society of Upper Canada) ranking first in her class. She is a trained Arbitrator and qualified under the now new legislation to sit as an arbitrator/mediator and to perform domestic screening for violence.

Ella has been appointed by the Ministry of the Attorney General and the Senior Reginal Justice of Toronto to sit in Toronto as  Dispute Resolution Officer.

Ella has lectured in law to various interest groups including teachers’ associations, Chartered Accountancy firms, and Lawyers.

Ella is a member of the CBAO and OBA Speaker’s Panel on matters relating to family law and a member of the family law Sub-Committee of the Advocates’ Society. She has been involved in issues of family law reform including submissions to Government committees on pension issues and the Family Law Act proposed amendments. Ella has written a number of articles for various legal programs dedicated to lawyers and has contributed to the Financial Post. Ella continues to be actively involved in continuing legal education through the Ontario Bar Association Law Society of Upper Canada and Advocates Society.

Ella is a member of the Canadian Bar Association, the Ontario Bar Association and the Law Society of Upper Canada. She sits on the Executive Committee for family law of the Ontario Bar Association and is a member of the Advocates Society. Ella is a former member of the American Trial Lawyers Association and a current member of the A.F.C.C.. She has sat and determined appeals with the Civil Area Committee (Legal Aid) and is former counsel and director of CANFAR (the Canadian Foundation for Aids Research).
